José Carire is a tattoo artist based in Pennsylvania, known for his distinctive dark art style and surreal imagery. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, José has been immersed in the world of drawing since childhood—often sketching during class instead of taking notes. His early inspiration came from Caribbean folklore and deities, planting the seeds for the haunting and dreamlike themes that define his work today.

José’s art frequently explores the eerie and the surreal, with recurring motifs like clowns, devils, and other nightmarish figures. His transition into tattooing began when he designed a few personal tattoos and was encouraged by a fellow artist to try it for himself. At the age of 33, after years of working miscellaneous construction and factory jobs, he took the leap and committed fully to tattooing.
